The works pretty good. I didn’t notice much of a difference after my first 3 sessions but I’m on my 6th now and my teeth look better than they ever have! I don’t even use the LED light because I honestly don’t think that makes much of a difference. The gel is super strong so make sure not to get it on your gums cuz it feels like it’s burning if you have it sit on there. I almost gave up after my first try cuz it burned so bad but I just started using the tiniest bit of gel for my other treatments and it hasn’t gotten on my gums since. I’d recommend it but use the gel with caution. Too much = gum pain.

    • Naomi Bear

Hi Big B! The LED light is optional. It’s used to enhance the effect of the whitening gel. The whitening gel is 36% carbamide peroxide, and you’re right: don’t get it on your gums/lips, it may burn if you have a pre-existing sensitivity or allergy to peroxide. You only need less than 0.5mL of gel in each tray. Thanks so much for your comments – glad you’re getting that smile you’re after!!! 🙂

The molding trays or whatever get stuck together if you drop them in hot water and try to fish them out. I was boiling water on the stove for the trays and then when I went to dip them in I drop them and when I fished them out they were stuck together and ruined! I had to buy new trays. This kit should come with an extra set of trays!

    • Naomi Bear

Hi Karen! When you are molding the trays, make sure you do them one at a time. Once the water starts boiling, take the water off of the heat and wait about a minute before putting one tray in (use the tab to dip them in the water, don’t drop them in). Take the tray out of the hot water immediately it begins to wilt. If left in too long, they can fold over, but if it’s just the ends of the trays, don’t worry because only the front 8 teeth are visible. The time each tray should be in the hot water should be about 5 seconds or just when they begin to wilt, and this will really depend on how hot your water is. If you’ve taken them out and they don’t mold to your teeth enough, you can repeat the process. If you need a new set of trays, please contact us at 🙂

  3. Quentaya

At the beginning, using the kit was fine and it was working. Day 3, my gums turned white and today they are super red and painful. Be cautious not to get the gel on your gums. The way the mouth molds are made make this very difficult. Not sure if I’ll continue to use this kit.

    • SnapWhite

Hi Quentaya! When the gel touches the gums, they may turn white. This is called “blanching” and is normal if it occurs. It’s the same type of reaction as when you put hydrogen peroxide on a cut/scrape (when you see that bubbling/whitening of the surrounding tissue). If your gums are turning red and you’re experiencing pain, you might be having an allergic reaction. An allergic reaction usually manifests itself as irritation or blisters where the gel has touched the soft tissues of your mouth. If this occurs, discontinue use immediately, rinse the irritated area well, and speak with your dentist, if desired, to see if you may have an allergy to the peroxide in the gel. These effects should disappear on their own within a few days. You can apply vitamin E oil to the irritated area, too. Don’t forget that you can trim the edges of the mouth trays to get a better fit (this may help prevent the gel from seeping up and unto your gums. It is very important to use less than 0.5mL of gel in each tray—that’s less than a tenth of a teaspoon.

  5. Marwa

I accidentally got the gel on my gums on day 3 and it’s the worst thing that’s ever happened to me. The right side of my face is completely swollen and my gums look like mush and my teeth hurt so bad. I believe I might be having an allergic reaction. I really wanted to like this product but my experience has been horrifying.
